72 countries, including Azerbaijan, have registered their teams to participate in the World Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, which will be held next month in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
According to Idman.biz, gymnasts will compete for eight sets of awards at the competition, which will be held from June 18-22 - four individual, three in groups, as well as in the team championship.
By the way, there will be no individual all-around competition at the World Championship. Gymnasts will only compete in different types and only one athlete from one country can perform in each exercise.
The preliminary composition of the Azerbaijani team includes ten gymnasts (four individual gymnasts and one group). So far, the applications are general in nature and the names of the participating athletes will be announced later.
The Organizing Committee announced a record number of participating teams in the World Junior Championships, which will be held for the third time. If athletes from 61 countries performed at the first competition in 2019, this figure reached 60 in 2023, and this indicator is expected to be updated in the upcoming tournament.
