Winning a bronze medal at the world championship held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, is a great motivation for Azerbaijani youth taekwondo athlete Saleh Heydarov (57 kg).
The athlete gave a statement to "Report" about this.
He shared his impressions about the competition:
"Participating in the world championship and winning a bronze medal is both proud and responsible. This was my first world championship. The competition was very high, and every fight was memorable with its difficulty. The fact that I couldn't reach the final is mainly due to my lack of experience. But I fought to the end for the goal I set. This medal is not only a success for me, but also a great motivation to achieve higher achievements in future competitions."
According to Saleh Heydarov, the phased training camps played a major role in achieving this result:
"Everything was carried out in a planned manner. Together with our coaches, we held phased training camps, and serious attention was paid to physical and tactical preparation. The attention and care shown by the leadership of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation gave us additional strength. The Federation created conditions for us to participate in high-level preparation processes, as well as in international competitions. I thank you for this support. This year, I was awarded bronze medals at the ISF U-15 Gymnasiade Sports Games held in Serbia and at the 52nd Open Championship of the Netherlands. I believe that I will achieve more successful results in the next competitions."
