Jahangir Babayev, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, commented on his election as a member of the Referees Committee of the European Karate Federation.
In an interview with "Report", he stated that he had previously worked in this organization.
C.Babayev said that his re-election to the committee was a surprise for him:
"I have worked in the Referees Committee of the European Karate Federation for almost 5 years. Last year they completely changed the members of the committee. In general, there is a change every 5 years. I received an offer from the European Karate Federation. I was the only one from the previous members who was re-elected. It was really a surprise. The job of the committee, which has 7 members, is to conduct exams for referees in Europe. This committee oversees all matters related to the category of all referees. We also manage European championships and other competitions. They last announced that elections for membership in the committee will be held every 4 years. My re-election to the committee is good for Azerbaijani karate."
It should be noted that the Referees Committee of the European Karate Federation has a total of 7 members, one of whom is the Azerbaijani representative Jahangir Babayev.
