The Russian Figure Skating Federation has not agreed to Veronika Zhilina's transfer to the Azerbaijan national team.
İdman.biz reports that this was announced by the head of the organization, Anton Sikharulidze, in a statement after the meeting of the Executive Committee.
He stated that the 16-year-old athlete is still listed as a member of the Russian national team: "Veronika Zhilina cannot transfer to any country, because she is still a member of the Russian national team. We do not understand why she is not performing. We are waiting for her to return - Veronika is in excellent shape, she has great potential."
It should be noted that Evgeni Plushenko's trainee missed last season due to injury. Earlier, Zhilina accused her former coach, Sergei Rozanov, of using violence against her when she was 11 years old.
