FIDE has confirmed the participation of 60 teams in the World Rapid and Blitz Championship, which will be held in London from June 10 to 16.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani grandmaster Rauf Mammadov, representing the "Freedom" team, will also compete in the tournament.
Viswanathan Anand (India), Le Quang Liem (Vietnam), Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine), and others will be in the same team as the Azerbaijani chess player.
WR Chess is considered the rating favorite. Last year, Magnus Carlsen led the championship.
It should be noted that such masters of intellect as Alireza Firouzja, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (both France), Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So (both USA), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Hou Yifan (China), and Alexandra Kosteniuk (Switzerland) will also participate in the tournament.
