Georgian Greco-Roman wrestler Yakob Kadjaya (130 kg) has been disqualified from competitions for two years for failing to pass three doping tests.
"Report" informs that the press service of the International Doping Test Agency (ITA) has released information about this.
In 2023 and 2024, doping officers were unable to find the athlete three times to undergo the appropriate procedure.
For this reason, last year ITA appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and in April it was found that the wrestler violated anti-doping rules.
His period of disqualification will end on April 3, 2027. In addition, all results achieved by the athlete since January 6, 2024 have been cancelled. Kadjaya has the right to appeal the decision to CAS.
It should be noted that Yakob Kadjaya is a silver medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The 31-year-old athlete also has two bronze medals at the World Championships (2019, 2021).
