The Azerbaijani national team achieved brilliant results at the 10th World Fudokan Karate Championship held in Pulavi, Poland.
İdman.biz reports that Vusal Abdulzade, assistant to the president of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, the official representative of the Fudokan style, who led the team at the tournament, shared his impressions of the competition.
The press service of the Federation presented his views: "For us, the opportunity to participate in this prestigious tournament in Poland and raise the Azerbaijani flag on the podium many times is a great source of pride and also a great responsibility.
Over the course of four days, our team demonstrated professionalism, determination and national spirit both on and off the tatami. Young athletes showed character and proved their level, which further increases our hope for the future."
Abdulzade expressed special thanks to the head coach of the national team, Bashir Mammadov, and emphasized his contribution to the team's success: "Thanks to the patient and systematic preparation of the coaching staff, today Azerbaijani Fudokan confidently declares itself at the world level. Behind every medal lies determination, professionalism and dedication."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team won a total of 9 medals at the World Championship - 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
