Masivesi Dakuwaqa, a rugby player for the French team "Biarritz Olympique" and Olympic champion in 2016 with the Fiji national team, has been removed from the squad for biting a teammate.
"Report" reports, citing Fiji Village, that the incident occurred during a party.
According to witnesses, a dispute arose between the Fiji national team member and another teammate over money. The victim was injured while trying to intervene in the conflict and received 20 stitches on his cheek.
Dakuwaqa confessed to the act but could not explain the reason for his action as he did not remember the events. The 30-year-old player, who was removed from his club due to the incident, is expected to appear in court in May.
