Halil Atlı, the head coach of the "Ganja" basketball club, has apologized to the fans.
"Report" reports that the specialist, in a statement to the club's press service, commented on their defeat to "Shaki" in the third match of the playoff stage of the Azerbaijan Basketball League and their cessation of the fight.
He thanked the team's fans:
"First of all, I thank the fans who supported us during the season. We tried to make them happy. When I came here, there was Ganja, which was offended by basketball. With the work we have done in this championship, I saw a team that regained people's love. For my part, I can say that I am very happy with the team I built. I am grateful to my players for their character and the fight they gave. They didn't give me any problems. I would like to thank the technical staff, my assistant, our manager, the doctor and everyone who helped us."
The Turkish specialist emphasized that he did his best:
"We wanted to do good things for "Ganja" this season. Looking back, I see that we managed to build a team that played in the cup final and qualified for the playoffs. When I came here, our first goal was to play in the playoffs again. We achieved this goal. I apologize to all the fans. As a coach, I tried to do my best. We thought about how to overcome the difficulties and how to further develop the good things we saw. I also thank the Federation management, they created good opportunities for us to operate."
It should be noted that "Ganja", which played three games with "Shaki" in the playoff stage, lost in the overall score - 1:2.
