I went to Slovakia for a gold medal.
This was stated to "Report" by Aghanazar Novruzov, an Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler who won a bronze medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
The wrestler, who rose to the honorary podium in the 74 kg weight category, said that his matches were difficult:
"I am happy that I did not finish the competition without an award. Although I went to Slovakia for a gold medal. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. But winning a bronze medal should not be considered a bad result. My matches were really difficult. I also had individual mistakes. I have to work hard on them. I want to change the standard of my medal to gold in the upcoming competitions."
It should be noted that Aghanazar Novruzov won a bronze medal by defeating Ramazan Ramazanov (Bulgaria) in the match for third place. In total, the team, which finished the competition with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, took first place in the team standings with 119 points.
