My goal is to become a champion or be among the medalists in this competition, as well as to break records.
This was stated by Azerbaijani swimmer Suleyman Ismayilzade, who won 1 gold and 2 silver medals at the XXXII Ostrava Grand Prix, a world championship license event held in the Czech Republic, in an interview with "Report".
He shared his impressions of the competition and also spoke about his plans:
"Our team performed very well and successfully at the Grand Prix in the Czech Republic. I won one gold and two silver medals. I took first place in the 400-meter distance, surpassing the Olympic participant. I have also broken the record of the Grand Prix competition among youth in the Czech Republic. The competition was successful not only for me but for every participant. I thank my personal coach Ruslan Hatamkhanov, head coach Rashad Abdurrahmanov, as well as the leadership of the Swimming Federation. The U-23 European Championship is coming up. My goal is to become a champion or be among the medalists in this competition, as well as to break records. I also aim to get a license for the World Championship."
It should be noted that Azerbaijani swimmers won 2 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals at the Grand Prix, which was attended by France, Poland and Slovenia, along with the organizing country.
