I hope to show good results in both rapid and blitz at the "Champions' Clash" tournament.
This was stated by Azerbaijani chess player Gunay Mammadzada in an interview with "Report", while talking about her upcoming match with world and European champion Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria) at the "Champions' Clash" tournament in Baku.
The Azerbaijani champion stated that she had faced her opponent before:
"The format of the tournament is interesting for me. It will be the first time I will play rapid and blitz matches specifically against someone. Azerbaijani champions will play against world champions. I hope it will also be interesting for the audience. I have played against Antoaneta Stefanova before. I think I am ahead in the score in the classical format. But I am not sure about the rapid format. Antoaneta is a good opponent. Unexpected results happen in chess. I hope to show good results in both rapid and blitz. Everything depends on the games. I prepare for competitions at the same level regardless of the opponents. I have not had any special preparation for this tournament."
It should be noted that the "Champions' Clash" tournament will be held from April 27 to 30 at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. In another match, Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov will clarify relations with the 15th world champion Viswanathan Anand (India).
