"Azerbaijan Chess Tour" project will be implemented
The Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF) will implement the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour" project, which will cover the entire country for the first time.
Apasport.az reports that within the framework of the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour", which will be implemented for the first time in 2025, 8 international open chess competitions will be organized in the country.
All competitions will be international in nature and will allow chess players across the country to increase their experience.
The chess tour will start from the capital Baku. The "Baku Open" international chess festival will start in the capital on April 28. "Sheki Open" will be held on June 18-25, "Shamakhı Open" on June 26-July 03, "Lankaran Open" on July 06-13, "Guba Open" on July 15-22, and "Ganja Open" on November 11-18 and "Shirvan Open" on November 19-26.
The "Vugar Hashimov Open" tournament will also be held within the framework of the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour".
It should be noted that along with local chess players, the participation of foreign participants, including international grandmasters, is planned in all tournaments.
