AFFA has launched an investigation into Elvin Jamalov, a former player and captain of "Sabah," who currently plays for "Neftchi." According to Sport24.az, the head of the AFFA press service, Elnur Mammadli, spoke about this in a statement to Qol.az.
Yesterday, "Sabah" issued an official statement regarding its former player and captain, Elvin Jamalov. According to the statement, after the last press conference of the head coach of "Sabah" FK, the club received many appeals. These appeals make it necessary to clarify the situation regarding the behavior of Elvin Jamalov, who currently represents "Neftchi" FK and is the former captain of "Sabah." In this regard, the club stated that it considers it important to announce its official position.
The information states that during the Azerbaijan Cup semi-final match between "Sabah" and "Neftchi," Jamalov contacted one of the "Sabah" players twice and offered him to move to "Neftchi" at the end of the current season. During these conversations, he especially emphasized the interest of his club's head coach and the high appreciation he gave to that player's game.
"Sabah" has already assessed Elvin Jamalov's actions as a violation of the rules and has sent an official appeal to AFFA regarding this. Also, before the "Sabah" statement, they contacted the management of "Neftchi."
Mammadli said in a statement to the website that an investigation is being conducted by the relevant committees in this regard: "We have received an official letter from Sabah Football Club. An investigation has been launched by the relevant committees regarding the issue."
It should be noted that neither Elvin Jamalov nor "Neftchi" has yet made a statement regarding the matter.
