Nigerian forward of "Nottingham Forest" Taiwo Awoniyi has come out of an artificial coma.
Idman.biz reports with reference to the "Daily Mail" that the footballer has successfully started the recovery process after emergency abdominal surgery.
Awoniyi appeared in the 83rd minute of the Premier League 36th round match against "Leicester" (2:2), and four minutes later, when he fell, he hit the goalpost and received a strong blow to the abdomen. After receiving first aid, the 27-year-old footballer got to his feet and finished the game, moving with great difficulty. After the match, the forward was urgently taken to the hospital and operated on there.
Awoniyi is currently conscious and able to communicate with his family. He is expected to fully recover and return to the green fields.
It should be noted that Avonyi has played 26 games in the current Premier League season and scored 1 goal.
