Asgar Abdullayev, a member of the AFFA Coaching Committee, assessed the first match of the Azerbaijan U-17 national team (boys) at the UEFA Development Tournament held in Moldova.
The 65-year-old expert, who is currently in Moldova, told "Report" that the team coached by Agil Nabiyev showed promise.
He emphasized that the team needs time:
"The U-17 has potential. The coaches are working on the team. Head coach Agil Nabiyev is one of our former students. A new team needs to be formed. I watched the game against Moldova live, and the players show promise. They just need time to get better. New players have been invited to the squad. They are being tested at the UEFA Development Tournament. Our coaches are on the right track. I hope they will form a good team."
It should be noted that U-17, who played their first match in the UEFA Development Tournament yesterday, lost to the corresponding age group team of Moldova with a score of 0:1.
