Inter Miami forward Luis Suarez bit Jordi Alba in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final against Los Angeles (3:1).
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that the incident occurred in the 89th minute of the match during a brawl between players from the two teams. During the fight, Inter Miami defender Jordi Alba put his hand on Suarez's chest, and the latter responded by biting his finger.
This is not the first such episode in Suarez's career. In 2010, while playing for Ajax, he bit PSV midfielder Otman Bakkal. In 2013, while playing for Liverpool, the Uruguayan bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. The most famous incident involving Suarez occurred at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, when his actions injured Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
Suarez joined Inter Miami in the winter of 2024 from Gremio as a free agent. The 38-year-old forward has played 50 games for the Florida club, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists.
