The Court of Arbitration for Sport has fined Norwegian midfielder Mathias Norman and his current club, Al-Raed.
Lent.az reports with reference to the Russian media that this is due to the fact that the football player and the Saudi Arabian club violated the terms of the contract without good reason. Therefore, they must pay Rostov more than 3 million euros in compensation and 5% annual interest.
"The panel of judges believes that the football player did not have sufficient grounds to terminate his contract with Rostov," the statement said.
Norman has played for Rostov since January 2019. During this time, the Norwegian played more than 50 games. In 2021, he was loaned to Norwich City.
Although the English had the right to buy a football player from the Russian club, they did not use it. In the summer of 2022, Norman moved to Dynamo on loan.
The Norwegian football player played 15 games for the Moscow team and voluntarily left Russia in the summer of 2023, despite the fact that his contract was still in effect.
In August, he signed a contract with Al-Raed.
