The draw ceremony for the European Judo Cup tournament among juniors, which will be held in Guba on May 3-4, has taken place.
Idman.biz reports that officials from the European Judo Union (EJU) and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) participated in the event.
At the beginning of the event, Kamran Talibov, Deputy Secretary General and Sports Director of ACF, spoke and thanked the EJU for the trust shown and wished all athletes success.
EJU Sports Commissioner Albert Gmayner greeted the participants on behalf of the organization's president, Laslo Tot, emphasized that the tournament would play an important role in the careers of young judokas, and expressed his gratitude to the ACF for their efforts in organizing the competition.
Vladimer Nutsubidze, EJU Commissioner for Judges, who spoke later, said that the matches of the Guba European Cup will be managed by 15 local and international category judges.
It should be noted that 354 judokas (213 boys, 141 girls) from 11 countries will compete in 16 weight categories in the international tournament. Azerbaijan will be represented by 141 athletes (100 boys, 41 girls) in this competition.
