I dedicate my victory to the Azerbaijani people.
"Report" reports that this was stated by Nihat Mammadli, the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler who won a gold medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, in his statement to journalists.
The wrestler, who achieved success in the 60 kg weight category, said that he was happy to win the gold medal of the European Championship for the second time:
"Thank God, I achieved my wish. Before the competition, I set myself up to win a gold medal. My opponent in the final was a very experienced athlete. Nevertheless, I managed to perform worthily and win. I hope I will be destined to become a world champion."
It should be noted that Nihat Mammadli won the gold medal by defeating Georgi Tibilov (Serbia) in the final. In total, the team, which finished the competition with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, took first place in the team score with 151 points.
