Luka Modrić has set a new record at Real Madrid.
QOL.az, citing the website of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics, reports that the Croatian midfielder has become the player with the most Champions League appearances for the Madrid club.
His record was set in the second leg of the 1/4 final against Arsenal (1:2). This marked the 39-year-old footballer's 134th match in the Champions League in a Real Madrid jersey. He surpassed former Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema (133).
It should be noted that Luka Modrić's current contract with Real Madrid expires in June of this year. The Croatian footballer has made 46 appearances for his team this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 7 assists.
