A new judo hall has been opened in Qakh.
According to "Report", citing the press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF), a judo hall started operating on May 16 in the territory of the Qakh city stadium.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Head of Qakh District Executive Power Musa Shakiliyev, Executive Vice-President of ACF Rashad Rasul, Advisor to the President of ACF Natig Bagirov and other officials.
The judo hall is equipped by the ACF with tatami mats that meet modern standards and other necessary equipment. In the physical training zone of the hall, there is the necessary sports equipment to ensure the physical development of judokas. The total size of the tatami is 200 sq.m. More than 150 athletes will practice judo in the hall.
One of the main activities of the ACF is the development of judo and the improvement of infrastructure in the regions. In 2022-2025, ACF opened judo halls in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Agstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, Agali village of Zangilan region, Zira settlement of Baku, Agdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad and Tartar. The next judo halls will start operating in Imishli, Shabran and Mosul village of Zagatala.
It should be noted that since 2022, the federation has provided up to 9,500 tatami mats to 115 sports halls in Baku and the regions, and 1,900 young athletes have been given the opportunity to train for free.
