Aslan Kotsoyev, who competed in the -90 kg weight category, won all 5 of his matches and climbed to the highest step of the podium. In the final, our judoka defeated the representative of Kazakhstan, Gleb Azarov.
Mehdi Abbasov (-81 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) and Khadija Gadashova (-52 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, Nizami Imanov (-66 kg) won gold, and Nihad Mamishov and Farid Garayev (both -60 kg) won bronze medals.
In total, the Azerbaijani national team finished the Istanbul European Cup with 2 gold and 5 bronze medals, taking 4th place in the overall team score among 31 countries, and 2nd place among men.
