"We absolutely must beat "Lerik" in the last game to stay in the Second League. A draw is enough for the opponent. We took this into account in the last match and protected the main squad. The whole team is focused on the game with "Lerik." We wouldn't want our chance to depend on the last round." These words were said by Vasif Ismayilov, one of the founders of "Fuzuli," in an interview with Sport24.az.
He also blamed himself for his team's unsuccessful results:
"Whatever league "Fuzuli" has played in, they have fought for first place. This is also fate. At the beginning of the season, we gathered a squad to play in the top 3. Before the end of the first round, we removed some players from the club. In the second round, we continued the championship with 5-6 players from the reserve team. Salaries were paid on time. The management did what was necessary. But the players did not fulfill their obligations. Due to my government job, I could not attend the games in the first round. I entrusted the team to people within the club. In the second round, I help as a coach, manager, and administrator in all games. I don't want to put all the responsibility on the players. 30 percent of the fault was mine for not being able to attend the matches. Maybe it would have been different if I had gone consistently."
It should be noted that "Fuzuli" is last in the Second League with 15 points after 25 rounds.
