Mikel Arteta called Guardiola before the match against Real Madrid
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta admitted at a press conference after the match against Real Madrid that he called Pep Guardiola before the match with the "Royal Club". Sport24.az reports with reference to the Daily Mail that the coach of the "Gunners" thanked the head coach of "Manchester City" for everything:
I called Guardiola this morning before the game against Real Madrid. It is thanks to him that I am where I am now. As a player and coach, he has always been an inspiration to me. He was the one who invited me to the team as a second coach.
I spent four wonderful years with him at Manchester City. I must be grateful to him, and I will always be grateful. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
It should be noted that Arsenal, coached by Mikel Arteta, defeated Real Madrid in both matches of the Champions League quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals.
