Lionel Messi has been called up to the Argentina national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Chile (June 4) and Colombia (June 7). According to Sport24.az, the Argentinian star missed the previous two qualifying matches due to injury.
The 37-year-old striker, having recovered from his injury, will be able to participate not only in national team matches, but also in the Club World Cup matches as part of Inter Miami.
It should be noted that Messi has scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 16 matches for Inter Miami this season. The striker has not appeared in the Argentina national team jersey in 2025.
