Kadi Borges: "Winning against Neftchi is very important for us" - INTERVIEW
The Brazilian football player of "Qarabağ" club, Kadi Borges, gave an interview to "Report". The midfielder talked about the game with "Neftchi", which they will face in the XXXI round of the Misli Premier League, and the championship chances of the Aghdam representative. He also emphasized that his team will perform ambitiously in the European Cups next season and said that they want to bring joy to the fans. Today you will face "Neftchi" in the Premier League. What are your expectations from this meeting? As always, we will go to the field to win. Nothing changes. Our goal is to win 3 points. But I would call the game with "Neftchi" a derby. Our games against this team cause great interest in Azerbaijan. I hope that what I said will not be an exception again. We have prepared very seriously for the meeting during the week. The atmosphere in the team is very good. I hope we can give our fans a victory. "Qarabağ" can formalize the championship this week. For this, the team must defeat "Neftchi", and "Zira", the closest follower of the Aghdam representative, must lose points in the match with "Sumgayit". Do you think you will be able to secure gold medals for yourself this week? First of all, we focus on our own games. Our principle is that after winning one match, we immediately focus on the next match. We are living the week when we can become champions. We are aware of the process. But for now, we are thinking about the meeting with "Neftchi". Victory is very important for us. Because first of all, we must do what is up to us. You joined the team during the winter break and scored 5 goals in the last 9 rounds, as well as contributed to the victory in several matches. Did you expect your performance to be high when you returned to "Qarabağ"? Yes, I felt that my performance would be high. Because I have set myself the goal of increasing my strength from game to game. I am a football player who always likes to improve. True, my results are not bad, but my thoughts are bigger. I work on this every day. I think my potential allows it. I want to be useful both to myself and to "Qarabağ". You joined the team's camp when "Qarabağ" said goodbye to the Europa League. How do you think the team's performance would have been better if you had been in the squad from the beginning of the current season? I find it difficult to answer this question. If I had been in the team at the beginning of the season, perhaps the results would have been worse. Who knows, maybe we would not have won a ticket to the League stage of the UEFA Europa League. It is difficult for me to talk on assumptions. It is more appropriate to talk about the goals we can achieve in the future. You signed a 4-year contract with the club during the winter break. Will "Qarabağ" fans be able to see the game they want from the team in the European Cups in the coming years? Again, it is a question that depends on probability. Since we live in real life, we can talk about the events we see clearly. Football has many visible and invisible sides. It is difficult to say something in advance. Sometimes it happens that you play the most beautiful game of your career, but you lose. Or vice versa, if you do not perform brilliantly, victory is yours. For my part, I can promise that as a football player, I will do my best. Of course, my teammates also have high goals. We all look to the future with optimism. We want to perform successfully in the European Cups next season. But time will tell how it will be. After leaving "Qarabağ" in 2022, you played in the Russian and Hungarian championships. How would you compare the Azerbaijan Premier League with those championships? I can distinguish the Russian championship a little. The organization and structure of the games are different. The championship is at a higher level. But there is not much difference with the Hungarian league. The quality of the players playing in Azerbaijan is not much different from that in Hungary. The level of matches does not differ much either. I can note one thing that fans in Hungary are more interested in the local championship. Unfortunately, this is not the case in Azerbaijan.
