Evren Uçok, a prominent Turkish businessman and investor, has decided to support our world-renowned chess player Shahriyar Mamedyarov.
İdman.biz reports that Bakuplus.az has obtained information about this from reliable sources.
Uçok, the founder of the famous "Trendyol" brand and the former head of the company, stated that he is ready to provide all kinds of support for Shahriyar Mamedyarov to become a world champion. Uçok provides significant financial support to Turkish teenagers to become world chess champions. Shahriyar was also invited to Turkey as a teacher to help them develop better. In subsequent discussions, it was decided to provide Shahriyar with the necessary support to become a world champion.
Magnus Carlsen, one of the strongest players in chess history and a 5-time world champion, announced that he would no longer participate in this competition in 2023 and has not participated in the last two world championships. Uçok believes that this is an opportunity for Shahriyar to become a world champion and that this process needs serious support.
Uçok also supports Shahriyar's nephew, 9-year-old Atilla Orman, to achieve great success in the future.
Interestingly, the Mamedyarovs are the only family in Azerbaijan with three grandmasters. Zeynab Mamedyarova, Shahriyar Mamedyarov, and Turkan Mamedyarova are well-known chess players in Azerbaijan and the world.
It should be noted that Shahriyar Mamedyarov has repeatedly complained about the lack of attention he receives in Azerbaijan and the lack of support as a chess player.
