"Neftchi" basketball player explains the reasons for losing to "Sabah" in the final series

"Neftchi" captain Amil Hamzayev explained the reasons for the defeat to "Sabah" in the first two matches of the Azerbaijan Basketball League final series.

In an interview with "Report", he attributed the failures in the first game to fatigue and late transfers.

The captain said that the opponent is more experienced:

"The same scenario happened in both games. I think this is due to the late transfers, fatigue at the end of the games. We couldn't find players that fully matched the positions. For this reason, basketball players try to do extra things beyond what they can. Because it is only possible to beat an opponent who has experienced basketball players suitable for their positions in this way. We couldn't hold some of the opponent's players. In addition to fatigue, we played with 5 foreigners on the field. Before the play-off matches, one of our players left the team."

A. Hamzayev assessed the chances before the third match of the final series:

"I think this will be the most important match of the series for both teams. The games went in such a way that the score could have been 2:0 in our favor as well. True, everyone now sees "Sabah" as the favorite, because it is a more experienced team. But the games have shown that we are not an easily defeated team. We can win every game. If we fall behind 0:3 in the series, we will also fall behind a lot psychologically. That's why we want to win the third game."

It should be noted that "Neftchi" lost to its opponent with a score of 77:86 and 89:94 in the final series. The next two meetings between the teams will be held tomorrow and on May 8. The team that wins 4 victories in the final series will become the champion.
