My experience helped me draw the match.
"Report" reports that Zeynab Mammadyarova said this in a statement to the press service of the federation after the second match (0.5:0.5) with Ayan Allahverdiyeva in the 1/8 finals of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship, where she qualified for the next stage.
The grandmaster emphasized that her opponent was strong:
"My opponent is a very strong chess player. She has been performing well in recent years. She is a candidate for the national team. I, on the other hand, have not been able to devote much time to chess in recent years due to my work. Nevertheless, I gained an advantage by using my experience. Despite being in a tense time trouble situation, I think my experience helped me draw the match."
The chess player assessed her chances in the 1/4 finals:
"The opponents in the 1/4 finals will be very strong. In fact, every opponent is strong. I will face an even stronger opponent than in the first round. If we look at my results in the games with Ulviyya Fataliyeva so far, I think I have a point advantage. We passed one stage. We will both prepare for the next stage."
She mentioned the name of the chess player whose playing style she liked:
"I especially like Khanim Balajayeva's playing style among the girls. She finishes the games without losing much energy. Of course, there are also chess players with higher ratings. In my opinion, Khanim can play more comfortably with such a competition system."
It should be noted that Zeynab Mammadyarova defeated Ayan Allahverdiyeva with a score of 1.5:0.5 according to the results of two games. She will face Ulviyya Fataliyeva in the 1/4 finals.
