The budget for the Winter Olympics, which will be held in Milan, Italy in 2026, has increased to $1.9 billion.
"Report" informs that the organizing committee of the competition has released information about this.
The budget increased by $112 million compared to the previously announced figure. However, the budget does not include funds for the construction of facilities such as a bobsleigh track in Cortina d'Ampezzo ($131 million) and a new hockey arena in Milan ($300 million), as well as the construction of roads and railways.
The Italian government will allocate an additional $1 billion for infrastructure development.
It should be noted that the budget of the Beijing Olympics, which took place in 2022, was $4 billion.
