Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Nihat Mammadli has become the winner of the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
"Report" informs that the athlete, competing in the 60 kg weight category, defeated Serbian Georgi Tibilov in the final.
N. Mammadli, who defeated his opponent with a score of 7:3, won the title of European champion for the 2nd time.
It should be noted that earlier freestyle wrestlers won 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze awards. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) became the European champion, Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) won silver, Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals.
Among Greco-Roman wrestlers, Eldaniz Azizli (57 kg) won silver and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze. The Azerbaijani national freestyle wrestling team became the European champion in the team standings. Among women, Jala Aliyeva (57 kg) won a bronze award.
