Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) has advanced to the final at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
According to "Report", the experienced athlete defeated Armenian representative Manvel Khachatryan 5:1 in the semi-final.
Murad Mammadov (63 kg) lost to his Turkish counterpart Kerem Kamal in the same round. Islam Abbasov (87 kg) was defeated by Bulgarian Semen Novikov.
Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) lost to Turkish Ahmet Yilmaz in the 1/8 final, and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg) lost to Turkish Hamza Bakir in the 1/4 final.
It should be noted that freestyle wrestlers have previously won 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze awards. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) became the European champion, Osman Nurmahammadov (92 kg) won silver, Islam Bazarhanov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals.
The Azerbaijani national freestyle wrestling team became the European champion in the team standings.
The continental championship will end on April 13.
