Belarusian judokas will be able to represent their country in international competitions.
İdman.biz reports that according to the statement of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee, athletes of this country will participate in international judo competitions under the state flag, emblem and anthem.
It is reported that the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF) has made a decision in this regard.
The decision to lift the sanctions imposed on Belarusian judokas in March 2022 will come into force on June 1. Thus, Belarusian athletes will be able to perform under their own flag at the upcoming world championship. The tournament will be held in Budapest on June 13-20.
However, the IJF has not officially announced the lifting of sanctions against Belarus.
It should be noted that since April 2023, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been able to participate in international competitions only under a neutral status.
