The opening ceremony of the European Cup tournament in rhythmic gymnastics was held in Baku.

Idman.biz reports that the event, which took place at the National Gymnastics Arena, began with a parade of participating countries.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov greeted the participants and wished them success in the responsible competition. He stated that this week our country is hosting two more international competitions in addition to the European Cup - the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta and the judo championship. The Minister noted that high state care is given to sports in our country, and emphasized that as a result of this care, there has been a remarkable progress in the development of gymnastics.

After the official speech, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played and the event continued with an artistic part.

It should be noted that 175 gymnasts from 25 countries joined the competition in the European Cup. The competition will last 4 days.
