The head coach of the Azerbaijan national under-17 football team (born in 2009), Agil Nabiyev, shared his thoughts with the AFFA press service after the first match (0:1) against the local team at the UEFA Development Tournament held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. Sport24.az reports that the expert said the following about the match:
"This is our second training camp with the team this year. Our first preparation took place last month. This time we have invited 10 new players. The UEFA Development Tournament is a good opportunity for the players. The result is not so important here. The main thing is that all players should have the opportunity to play. The goal is to achieve their development. Of course, we have problems with the physical condition and technical skills of the players. The main aspect in which we lagged behind the opponent in yesterday's match against the Moldova team was the final passes and decisive shots. I hope we will gradually eliminate this. We will have to play 3 games here in 6 days. We dedicate the two days between matches to the recovery of the players and their preparation for the next meeting. The qualifying round games will be in October. We have time until then. During this period, we will try to form the team and perform successfully in the qualifying round."
It should be noted that our U-17 national team will play its next matches within the tournament on April 16 against Georgia, and on April 19 against Estonia.
