Former Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui has found a new job.
According to QOL.az, insider Fabrizio Romano reported this.
The 58-year-old specialist will be appointed as the head coach of the Qatar national team. It is reported that the Qatar Football Federation will sign a contract with Lopetegui until the summer of 2027. It was also noted that the appointment will be officially announced this week.
Lopetegui's last job was West Ham, which he left in January this year.
It should be noted that Qatar will play its next matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Iran and Uzbekistan. The matches will be played on May 5 and 10, respectively.
After 8 rounds, the Qatar national team has collected 10 points and is in 4th place in the standings after Iran, Uzbekistan, and the UAE.
