"The team can come back." These words were said to Sport24.az by Ivan Brkic, the former goalkeeper of "Neftchi".
The 29-year-old goalkeeper shared his thoughts on the game that the "white-blacks" will play against "Sabah" on the eve of the return match of the semi-final stage of the Azerbaijan Cup:
"Losing 1:2 in the first match is not the end of the road. With the right approach, good preparation for the match and the support of the fans, they can change the result."
The Croatian also touched upon the current performance of his former team this season:
"They make a very unsuccessful impression this season. This shocked many. But "Neftchi" is "Neftchi". This name has weight. You have to believe in the team. No matter how rude it sounds, I must say it. Some players are not worthy of wearing this uniform in terms of character. That's the truth. When you play in a club like "Neftchi", you must be responsible not only to the team, but also to the fans and the club's tradition."
It should be noted that the "Sabah" - "Neftchi" match will take place on April 23.
