"Sabah" has reached the final of the Azerbaijan Cup for the first time in its history.
Idman.biz reports that the team, coached by Vasili Berezutski, overcame "Neftchi" in the semi-finals – 2:1, 1:1.
"Sabah" became the 19th team to reach the final in the 33-year history of the tournament. "Qarabag" 12, "Neftchi" 11, "Shamakhi" 6, "Khazar Lankaran" and "Gabala" 5, "Kapaz" 4, "Baku" 3, "Kur-Nur", "Shamkir", "Sumgayit" and "Zira" successfully passed the semi-finals 2 times. "Inshaatchi" (Baku), "Shafa", "Khazri", "MKT-Araz", "Inshaatchi" (Sabirabad), "Khazar" (Lankaran) and "Karvan" achieved this once, like "Sabah".
Note that the 2001/02 and 2019/20 seasons were left unfinished.
