Elkhan Mammadov, Director of the European National Associations Department of FIFA, spoke about Russia's international ban. Sport24.az, citing Sport-Express, reports that Mammadov said they expect Russia to return to the world football stage:
"The head of the football federation always sends his warmest greetings to the entire football family. Of course, we are waiting for Russia to return to the world football stage."
It should be noted that Russian national teams and clubs have been suspended from participating in international tournaments since February 2022. Therefore, the national team can only play friendly matches. Valery Karpin's team defeated the Syrian national team 4:0 in the last friendly match.
